How has your upbringing shaped where you are today?
- “I think my upbringing has shaped me…as a spiritual person. Both of my parents are very religious. I grew up in the church and that plays a very important role in my life of who I am and what I do. My mom and my dad, they were always involved in the community and stuff and I took the key to that. I participated in that.”
Do you believe in happenstance or fate? Or both? Or do you believe in another term?
- “I believe in the destiny, I believe in that. I feel like there are situations that happen, that just happens, its opposed to your purpose and your destiny, destiny is really already written. I think that you can expand the destiny that was written for you, bigger depending on how much you really push your faith and yourself and use what God is giving you, that’s what I really believe. I feel like in life there are coincidences that happen in your life, that don’t really have a long-lasting impact. It’s usually the ones that you think are minuscule, that leave the imprint on your life.”
Have your post college thoughts changed from your initial thoughts? If so, why?
- “I think that college is an experience. First I think it was like oh its a requirement, something to progress yourself as in education and etc. but college really more so about you discovering yourself a lot and once you discover yourself and learn how to work with people. The sky is the limit for you. I realized college is more like a nesting ground, a training ground for life. It should be if you are doing it right. From everything, from relationship to classes, to finances, like all of that.”
During your post-graduation phase of life, are there any lessons you learned and would like to share?
- “Never let somebody tell you no. Don’t let them tell you. If they do tell you no, don’t allow anyone stopping you from doing what you want to do, even if it’s your parents. Sometimes you have to be able to listen to your own voice and find people that can encourage that small voice inside to be louder. Its’ a lot of people in the world, they’ll tell you a lot of no’s, they have a lot of fear, but if you say ‘I’m not going to listen to them’, if you have this hunger for your dreams, you can do that, you really can do that.”
