As an adolescence we usually dream about the direction we would like our life to go within our career paths? What was your dream during this time?

  • “Working at Pixar or Nickelodeon creating animated cartoons and eventually making my own cartoons. It is a dream for me to see my creations enjoyed by others and putting smiles on faces.”

Can you talk to me about your emotions/struggles in the grey area?

  • “Confusion and anger because I was comparing myself to others. I would get frustrated quite often about it. I also felt sadness because I felt like I would never get to where I want to be to see my dreams flourish.

How are you paying for college? Is it worth it?

  • “I was using financial aid and I did not know I was going to be in debt. What was annoying for me was paying for books that was $300 and trying to sell them back and only getting $35. I did not feel that was worth it. The books for me were same as previous editions, perfectly good book but now worth a whole lot less.”

When discontinuing college the first time what were your feelings and thoughts?

  • “I felt frustrated because I felt I needed college to succeed and so by not being in college I felt behind. I felt I probably would not ever reach my goal because I had a strict time line set. Go to school, graduate, and work.”

Are there any lessons you learned and would like to share?

  • “You may not find your career path right away and it’s okay. I reccommend taking time out and getting to know yourself. If you are passionate about something creative I recommend you going for it and following your passion. The money will come and if not, you can always find avenues to go in to get your way out and get your money. There is always some other way.”
